In April 2004, the Consorzio Venezia Nuova received RINA certification of its Quality Management System in accordance with UNI EN ISO 9001:2000.
This certification, renewed in February 2010 (in accordance with UNI EN ISO 9001:2008), covers all the Consorzio Venezia Nuova's processes and services connected with measures to safeguard Venice and is aimed at demonstrating respect for the quality requisites established for the studies, projects and works, as well as a commitment to continuous improvement.

The certification represents third party recognition of the attention paid by the Consorzio Venezia Nuova to Quality requisites and the organisation set up to this end.
The Quality System is applied to the Consorzio Venezia Nuova's principal operational and management processes, namely:

  • acquisition of assignments from the Venice Water Authority
  • definition of design and development plans for studies, surveys, projects and works
  • planning and control of operational activities.

Implementation of a Quality Management System involves measurement of the performance of company processes and consequent definition of possible actions aimed at "continuous improvement".  The system is integrated with the Consorzio Venezia Nuova's formative and technological activities, including knowledge management and information technology development.
The Quality Management System was set up with the following aims in mind:

  • to obtain an overall view of the company through its processes
  • objectives sharing
  • customer orientation
  • knowledge sharing
  • reduction of inefficiency.
